Black-Gloss Kantharos (Drinking Cup)
Black-Gloss Kantharos (Drinking Cup) by Artist Unknown. The object is a ceramic cup with two handles. The cup is primarily black with areas of exposed beige underneath where the black is chipped off. The cup has a wide mouth with a narrow lip that extends outwards on both sides to form the beginnings of the two handles. The handles are looped and attached to the body of the cup on either side. The body of the cup is bulbous with vertical ribbing near the bottom. The base of the cup is narrow and flares out slightly at the bottom. There is a band of four orange figures with their arms around each other encircling the cup near the top. The background of the image is gray with a vignette effect.
