Utagawa Hiroshige

Cleveland Museum of Art

A long, elevated, arched wooden bridge with railings on both sides spans a body of water. The bridge has a truss structure underneath and supports people walking across it. The bridge curves to the left. On the bridge, people wear simple kimonos in shades of blue and orange and conical straw hats. In the background, on the right side of the image, there are buildings with tiled roofs. On the left side of the image, there is a field with tall plants. In the distance, there are mountains with a blue and gray gradient. The sky above has a gradient of orange, yellow, and gray. There are several Asian characters written in black ink throughout the image. One character is written on a red background. There is a red stamp in the bottom-right corner. The corners of the paper are slightly curled.
