The painting depicts three ducks swimming in a body of water surrounded by reeds. The ducks are positioned in the center left of the image, facing to the right. The duck on the left has a dark head and neck with light-brown and black feathers on its body. The middle duck has a lighter-colored head and neck with similar light-brown and black feathers on its body. The duck on the right has a light-colored head and neck with light-brown and black feathers on its body. The water is depicted in shades of brown and gray. Reeds and grasses are drawn in black on either side of the ducks and in the foreground. The background of the painting is a mottled brown color, with some darker spots and marks. A gold border with a patterned design runs along the bottom of the painting. The overall color palette is muted, with shades of brown, gray, and black dominating the scene.
