Drachm: Head of Apollo (obverse); Lyre (reverse)

Cleveland Museum of Art

The image shows two sides of a coin. The coin is silver and circular. The obverse side of the coin features the head of Apollo, a man with short hair, facing left. The hair on the top of his head is styled in a braid or a laurel wreath. The reverse side of the coin features a lyre, a musical instrument with a pear-shaped body and a long neck. The body of the lyre has a U-shaped curved indentation on its front and what appears to be four strings.
