A monochromatic landscape drawing depicts a hill with a group of sheep scattered across the foreground. The hill is brown with darker shadows. A few trees are on the left. A cloudy sky dominates the top half. The image is framed with a white border. Text at the bottom reads "HIND HEAD HILL No. On the Portsmouth Road. Published Jan. 1.1802. by M. Turner Queen Ann Street West." Small text in the bottom corners reads "Drawn & Etched by J.M.W. Turner R.A. P.P." and "Engraved by Dunkarton". A small number "II" is centered at the top of the border.
