Wheel-Lock Hunting Rifle

Cleveland Museum of Art

The Wheel-Lock Hunting Rifle has a long, slender barrel with intricate engravings covering most of its surface. The stock is made of dark wood with a wide triangular butt and is also covered in engravings. A small, round wheel is visible on the right side of the rifle near the stock, which is the wheel-lock mechanism. The rifle has a small trigger and a flintlock-style frizzen. The background of the image is a gradient that transitions from black at the top to gray at the bottom. The rifle is positioned horizontally with the butt on the left side of the image and the barrel extending to the right.
