Rubbing of a Stone from the Tang-Fang Collection. Sepia-toned rubbing of a stone carving, rectangular with uneven edges. The rubbing consists of two horizontal sections with a horizontal line separating them. The top section depicts procession scenes with horses and chariots. In the top section, from left to right: - A rider on horseback with a spear, - A horse-drawn carriage with two people and a servant, - A rider on horseback with a spear, - A canopy-covered carriage with two people inside and a servant holding an umbrella, - A horse-drawn carriage with one person inside and a servant running alongside, - A horse-drawn carriage with one person inside and a servant holding an umbrella, - A horse-drawn carriage with two people inside and a servant running alongside. The bottom section depicts people interacting while seated or standing. In the bottom section, from left to right: - A group of four people seated, - A person sitting on a box, - A person standing and a figure leaning on a staff, - A horse and rider, - A man on horseback speaking to a standing man, - A horse-drawn carriage.
