Bobbin Lace (Rose Lace) Edging with Bell Points

Cleveland Museum of Art

White crocheted lace edging with repeating floral patterns and bell-shaped points. The edging features a straight top edge with a wavy pattern and a scalloped bottom edge. The main body consists of connected floral motifs with eight-petaled flowers and leaf-like shapes. The flowers are arranged in a symmetrical pattern, with groups of three flowers connected by thin lines. Each flower motif is mirrored on either side by a similar motif, creating a repeating pattern. The lace is set against a solid black background. The style of the lace is characteristic of traditional bobbin lace, also known as rose lace.
