Bobbin Lace Insertion

Cleveland Museum of Art

White bobbin lace with a repeating floral pattern on a black background. The lace is long and thin, and runs horizontally across the image. The lace consists of a top and bottom edge with small loops along the length. Inside these edges, the lace features a repeating floral design made up of eight-petaled flowers with rounded petals grouped in sets of three. The flowers are connected by curved branches. The flowers and branches form a continuous, intricate pattern with many holes throughout. The lace appears to be made of a thin, white material, possibly cotton or linen. The background is solid black. The lace piece is titled "Bobbin Lace Insertion".
