Cleveland Museum of Art

This is an antique, two-part bobbin lace lappet. The lappet has a curved shape with one end wider than the other. The lace is made of a light-colored thread, possibly linen or cotton, and features an intricate floral and leaf pattern. The lace has a dense, woven texture with a repeating design of interconnected flowers and leaves. The edges of the lace are scalloped and have a decorative border. The two parts of the lappet are separated by a small gap in the middle. The background of the image is black. The lappet is titled "Bobbin Lace (Valenciennes) Lappet in Two Parts".
