Vom Tode I, (Opus II, 1889) No. 6

Max Klinger

Cleveland Museum of Art

Black and white artwork of a person on the ground beside a statue. The person is on the lower center-right side of the image. They are wearing a hat and what appears to be a coat or robe. Their head is on the ground. A stone wall spans the background across the top with a line of people on top. A staircase is on the left with three steps and three figures on the left, near the wall. To the right of the steps is a pedestal with a draped sculpture on top. The image is framed with a thin light margin around the artwork and a thicker dark margin. The frame has a face on the left inner corner. There is small, illegible text in the lower corners.
