The "Adoration of the Shepherds" drawing depicts a scene with a central female figure sitting and holding an infant, surrounded by several other figures. The central figure wears a long dress and a head covering. The infant lies on what appears to be a stone or wooden structure. To the left, a male figure kneels and holds a shepherd's staff. He faces right, toward the infant. On the right side, another figure, presumably male, stands behind the central figure. He appears to be wearing a long robe and looks down at the infant. In the foreground to the right, a figure with wings, likely an angel, kneels and looks up. The background shows a building with an arched doorway and a triangular roof. The entire scene is rendered in sepia tones, suggesting it is a drawing or etching.
