The woman on the right has a light-colored kimono and a dark kimono with a hexagonal pattern over it; she faces forward. The wall behind the women has an orange overhang at the top with green leaves hanging down. The border around the print has a thin orange line around the edges with Japanese calligraphy vertically on the left side. The print's background fades from light orange at the bottom to light beige at the top. The title of the work is "Examination for Writing" by Utagawa Toyokuni.
