Title Robe

Cleveland Museum of Art

The image depicts a short-sleeved, knee-length robe with a V-shaped neckline. The robe's main body is salmon pink. A diagonal band crosses the top, extending from the upper right shoulder to the lower left side. This band is black with white circular designs featuring a bird-like motif and floral patterns. The same black band with white designs runs down both sides of the sleeves. The front of the robe features four circular medallions with a white bird-like figure surrounded by floral patterns. The bottom of the robe has a multicolored chevron pattern in shades of blue, green, yellow, pink, and purple. A band of stylized wave-like designs separates the chevrons from the medallions. The robe appears to be made of silk or a similar fabric and is likely of Asian origin.
