Book of Hours (Use of Rouen): fol. 146r

Master of the Geneva Latini

Cleveland Museum of Art

The image shows a page from an illuminated manuscript. The page is off-white with darker off-white spots scattered around. On the right edge of the page, there is a blue, gold, green, and red patterned border. The pattern consists of intertwining vines and flowers. The border covers about one-third of the right side of the page. The left side of the page contains black text written in an old language, possibly Latin. There are two decorative initials, one at the top and one below the first line of text. The initial at the top is gold and blue with a red and gold design inside. The initial below is blue and red with a gold design inside. There are also colorful designs along the left edge of the text, which appear to be a continuation of the border on the right side. The overall design and style of the page suggest that it is from a medieval manuscript, likely from the 15th century.
