Pomona Britannica: No. 52 - Black Prince Grape

George Brookshaw

Cleveland Museum of Art

A bunch of dark purple grapes hanging from a vine with green and yellowish-brown leaves on a beige background. The bunch of grapes is large and oval-shaped, with many individual grapes clustered together. The grapes are dark purple and have a slight sheen to them. The stem of the bunch is green and thin. There are several green leaves with yellow veins and a yellowish-brown leaf with a reddish-brown spot near the top of the image. The leaves are attached to a brown vine that runs across the top of the image. The background is a solid beige color. There is a shadow cast by the grapes and leaves on the right side of the image. A thin border surrounds the image, with a decorative rectangle at the bottom center.
