Crucifixion with the Two Thieves
The artwork depicts the Crucifixion with the Two Thieves by Albrecht Dürer. The drawing shows Jesus Christ on the cross in the center with arms outstretched. He is wearing a loincloth and has a halo around his head. On his left and right are two thieves, also on crosses and wearing loincloths. The faces of the thieves are drawn differently; the one on the right looks more agonized. Below and to the left of Jesus are several onlookers; some appear sorrowful while others seem to talk amongst themselves. To the right, there are more people looking on, and some on horseback. The drawing is in shades of brown, with darker areas where the lines are denser. The paper is aged and shows signs of wear and tear.
