Master of the Brussels Initials and Associates

This image shows an open book page with black calligraphy text and colorful illustrations. The page is yellowed and worn. The text is written in black calligraphy and occupies the right two-thirds of the image, taking up six lines and framed by a blue and red border. A large decorative initial letter fills the space between the first two lines. There are 11 smaller rectangles containing geometric patterns on the right side. The left side and bottom of the image have a tree illustration branching from the top-center. The tree has leaves, flowers, and small colorful flags. A bird sits on a branch on the left side of the tree. A grotesque—a red deer-like creature with a green body and a jester's hat—is on the bottom-left. A red dragon and blue snake are on the bottom-right. The bottom of the page has a signature in black.
