Witmen Tremissis: Cross Fourchée (reverse)

Cleveland Museum of Art

The coin is round and made of gold-colored metal. The surface of the coin has a cross with four arms of equal length. The cross has a distinctive shape, with each arm divided into two parts by a smaller crosspiece, resembling a "Y" shape at the end of each arm, forming a cross fourchée. The cross is surrounded by a circle of small raised dots. Outside the circle of dots, there is an inscription that appears to be in Latin, but the letters are worn and not entirely legible. The coin has a worn, aged appearance with visible signs of use and aging. The background of the image is a dark gray color. The coin appears to be an old, historical coin, specifically a Witmen Tremissis.
