Two oval paintings, side by side. Left painting: - Large, dimly lit interior space with a high, vaulted ceiling and rows of columns. - Distant wall has several windows and a large wooden door. - People sitting and standing on the floor; some luggage and a cart. - A lantern hanging from the ceiling. Right painting: - A long, dark corridor or passageway with stone walls and vaulted ceiling. - Arched openings on either side, one leading to bright daylight. - People walking, on horseback, and with dogs. Both paintings have thin gold borders. The background behind the paintings is gray.
