Her right arm is raised above her head, holding a rope or cord. Her hair cascades down her back. The woman's body faces left; her head is turned to the left. The background is dark at the top and lightens towards the bottom. A shadow is cast to the left. The sculpture is titled "Allegory of Fishing" by James Pradier.
