Album with Views of Rome and Surroundings, Landscape Studies, page 53a: "Vivaro"

Franz Johann Heinrich Nadorp

Cleveland Museum of Art

The image shows a sketch of a landscape with a town on a rocky hill, surrounded by mountains. The sketch is drawn in pencil on a piece of white paper, rectangular in shape with a slightly rough texture. The town is drawn in the center of the paper, with buildings stacked on top of each other on a rocky hillside. The hill is steep and rocky, with some trees and bushes drawn at the bottom. In the background, there are mountains and hills, also drawn in pencil. The paper is mounted on a larger piece of beige paper, which is slightly yellowed and has some darker spots. The beige paper is in a book with a dark brown cover, visible on the right edge. The book is lying flat on a dark gray surface. The sketch is labeled with a word that appears to be "Vivaro" in the lower-left corner.
