Cleveland Museum of Art

The image depicts a gold statue of a crowned Buddha seated on a lion throne. The Buddha has a tall, narrow head with a smooth, rounded top, a small mouth, and closed eyes. The figure is adorned with long hair on either side of the face. The Buddha is wearing a long-sleeved robe with a decorative pattern on the chest area. The hands are clasped together in the lap. The statue sits cross-legged on a rectangular throne; the throne is supported by two carved lions, one on each side. The base of the statue features a row of rounded shapes around the perimeter. The background of the image transitions from dark gray at the top to light gray at the bottom.
