Head

Cleveland Museum of Art

Terracotta head sculpture, reddish-brown in color. The face is elongated with a prominent forehead, thick eyebrows, and large eyes with circular pupils. The nose is broad and slightly upturned. The mouth is open with a small, rounded lip. The ears are large and protruding. A headband or crown-like structure adorns the top of the head, with geometric patterns. The background is a gradient of dark gray to light gray. The title is "Head" by the artist Henry Moore is incorrect, as this piece seems to predate Moore's work. A possible title and artist could be "Head" by an unknown Nok artist.
