He wears a white ruffled shirt and a navy-blue jacket with 5 rows of gold-colored metal buttons on the front; the buttons are double rowed. The painting consists of several thin black border lines on cream-colored background. The artwork has a rough torn edge around it with darker and lighter spots spread across it. There is writing in brown ink at the bottom of the artwork.
