He sits on a stool and holds a stylus in one hand and a parchment in the other. A halo surrounds his head. A calf is at the top of the leaf; writing in a non-Latin script appears next to it. The leaf is framed with geometric patterns in red. The parchment is yellowed with age and has rough, damaged edges.
