Bronze Volute Krater Base
The base of an ancient bronze volute krater displays a green patina and features a wide, flared mouth with a rounded lip. The body of the vessel has a wide, rounded shoulder that tapers down to a narrower lower section. Vertical ridges adorn the lower portion, while the base is flat and slightly wider than the lower section. The entire piece exhibits signs of wear and aging through its green patina, with visible discoloration and some darker spots or areas. The krater base presents a classic example of ancient Greek pottery design.
