Pilgrim's Ampulla with Scenes of the Crucifixion (front) and the Ascension (back)

The object is a pilgrim's ampulla, a small, round, metal vessel. The ampulla has two sides shown. The front side depicts a scene of the crucifixion. The crucifixion scene shows a cross with a figure on it. There are other figures to either side of the cross. The back side depicts a scene of the ascension. The ascension scene shows a figure rising into the air, surrounded by other figures. Both scenes are encircled by an inscription. The vessel has a short neck with a flared opening at the top. The metal is weathered and has a brownish-green patina. The object has a dark brown leather strap around the middle. The background of the image is dark at the top and light at the bottom. The ampulla is shown from the front and back.
