Cleveland Museum of Art

The image depicts a colorful illustration of a scene from Indian art. The scene is framed by a black border and set within a larger tan rectangle with darker spots. Inside the black border, a building with white walls and a blue and pink balcony is on the right. On the balcony, a man and woman sit; the man wears a blue turban and the woman, orange; both wear orange clothing. The man holds a stringed instrument. Below them, on the ground to the left, a man in a dark green outfit and a woman in a yellow and red outfit converse while another man in dark clothing and a yellow turban plays a horn-like instrument. To the right of that man, a man in a red turban sits on a low platform. On the left, three women look up at the balcony; one wears a green outfit and a white turban; another wears a yellow and red sari; the third wears blue and gold. The background shows a green hill, a pink and blue sky with a crescent moon, and birds in flight. Above the framed scene, black non-English text is written. The tan background of the image has spots of silver and gray.
