Leaf from a Buddhist Manuscript (verso)

Cleveland Museum of Art

Long, narrow, light brown rectangular object with slightly rounded edges. The object has a light tan background with darker tan edges. The surface contains numerous lines of small, dark brown writing. Two red circles with a white hole in the center are visible, one on the left and one on the right side. Small red marks are scattered throughout the writing. The background behind the object is a solid light beige color. The object appears to be made of a natural material, possibly wood or plant fiber. The writing on the surface appears to be in an ancient script. The two red circles with holes may have been used for binding.
