Leaf from a Buddhist Manuscript (recto)

Cleveland Museum of Art

Recto of a pale yellow leaf with black and red text written in a flowing script, possibly Burmese. The leaf is horizontally oriented with rough edges and a jagged bottom. The leaf contains two circular holes, each surrounded by a red circle. The holes are centered vertically and horizontally spaced at one third and two thirds of the leaf's width. Red marks are scattered throughout the leaf. The background behind the leaf is plain and light-colored. The leaf appears to be a Buddhist manuscript.
