Leaf from a Buddhist Manuscript (recto)

Cleveland Museum of Art

Rectangular, light brown, wooden leaf with rounded edges. The leaf has two holes, one on the left and one on the right, both in the center, with red circular marks around them. The surface of the leaf contains numerous lines of small, intricate writing in a curved script. The background of the image is beige. The writing appears to be in an ancient language, possibly Pali or Sanskrit. The leaf appears to be old and worn, with darker spots and lines visible on its surface.
