Text, folio 114 (verso), from a Gospel Book with Commentaries

Cleveland Museum of Art

An open book with yellowed pages displays a full page of text written in a language that appears to be Greek. The book's pages exhibit signs of aging, including discoloration, dark brown spots, and frayed edges. A thin strip of transparent tape holds the page in place along the left margin. The parchment-like pages are slightly wrinkled. The background of the image is a muted gray color. The text occupies the entire page in a single column, with some areas appearing more stained than others. A noticeably darker brown stain is present near the bottom left. Some of the writing appears to be in red ink. A second, darker page is visible on the left edge of the image. The text is written in an older style of script.
