Text, folio 135 (verso), from a Gospel Book with Commentaries

Cleveland Museum of Art

An open book with yellowed pages. The book is lying flat on a dark gray surface. The book's pages are white with brown edges. The text on the pages is written in gold ink and appears to be in an ancient language, possibly Greek. The text is arranged in a formal, cursive script. There are two columns of text on the page. The left column has a larger letter at the beginning of the text. The right column has a smaller letter at the beginning of the text. The book has a worn and aged appearance, with visible signs of wear and tear. The pages are slightly curled at the edges. A strip of clear tape runs down the left side of the book, holding it together. There are small dark spots on the pages, possibly ink or dirt.
