Text, folio 226 (verso), from a Gospel Book with Commentaries

Cleveland Museum of Art

Old, yellowed, and worn book open to a page with handwritten text in a language that appears to be Greek. The book lies flat, with the left side of the book on the left side of the image and the right side on the right. The pages are yellowed and have darker spots and discoloration around the edges. The left edge of the book's pages are exposed and reveal the thickness of the book. A semi-transparent tape strip is placed vertically along the left side of the page. The text on the page is written in a dark brown or black ink and appears to be in an old style of handwriting. The text is arranged in paragraphs or sections, with some words or phrases underlined or highlighted. The background of the image is a dark gray color.
