Basin stand

William Hook

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Dark brown wooden basin stand with two levels. The top level has a raised back and a large circular hole in the center, with two smaller circular holes on either side. The top level also features a scalloped edge along the front. Four turned legs, two of which are thicker and more ornately carved, support the stand. The thicker legs have a spiral design and are positioned at the front and back of the stand. A drawer with two gold lion head drawer pulls is located on the lower level. The background is gray, with a shadow cast by the stand.
