Side Chair

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The Side Chair by artist Dunlap features a black chair with a curved backrest and four legs. The backrest has a rounded top and a decorative design comprising long, thin, evenly spaced vertical lines that converge at the bottom with a rounded section. The chair's seat is square and flat with rounded corners. A row of small metal studs runs along the front and sides of the seat, forming a wavy pattern. Two horizontal bars connect the legs underneath the seat. The background is plain and light-colored.
