Clock bracket

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The Clock Bracket by unknown artist shows a dark-colored, distressed wooden bracket with a rectangular backplate and a small shelf. The backplate is tall and narrow with a rounded top; it has two holes, one larger than the other, and a horizontal groove. Two curved handles are on either side, resembling scrollwork. The shelf is small, rectangular, and appears to have three small feet. The wood is worn, with visible scratches and chipped areas. The background of the image is plain white.
