Coffeepot

Charles Faris

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The coffeepot by Charles Faris is silver with a black handle. The coffeepot has an octagonal base. The body of the coffeepot tapers outward then narrows and then tapers outward again to a round body that curves inward to meet the base. The spout is long and curved and is ornamental with leaves. The handle is on the left and is black and attached with ornamental silver pieces. The lid is domed and has a decorative knob on top. The knob appears to be a pinecone. There are decorative engravings on the body and lid. The background is gray.
