Covered Sugar Bowl

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Covered sugar bowl by Herend. White ceramic bowl with lid. The bowl has two handles on either side, each made to look like bunches of grapes with leaves. The body of the bowl features a repeating pattern of teardrop shapes with the pointed ends facing downwards, outlined in white. A similar pattern is on the lid, but the teardrop shapes point towards a central knob on the lid resembling a flower bud. The background of the bowl and lid is a darker shade. The base of the bowl is round and flat.
