Figured flask

White Glass Works

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Green glass flask with rounded rectangular shape and short neck. The flask features an oval panel on its front. Inside the oval panel is a relief image of an eagle standing on a shield. The eagle faces to the left and has its wings spread. The shield on the eagle's chest has vertical stripes. The eagle's feet are on a bundle of arrows and an olive branch. The eagle's beak holds a ribbon with a banner. The words are too indistinct to make out. At the bottom of the oval panel are the words "THE BARNARD" and a line of text that is not legible. The background fades from dark gray at the top to light gray at the bottom.
