Chocolate Jar

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The Chocolate Jar by Sèvres has a white ceramic body. The jar is vase-like in shape, wider at the middle than at the base and narrower at the top. A rusted metal band encircles the top. A blue painted design on the body includes curving floral motifs separated by a thin line down the center. A thin blue line borders the bottom edge. The base is rounded.
