Oil Lamp

New England Glass Company

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The image shows an oil lamp with a white base and a black top. The lamp has a square base with a floral design on the front. The base has a decorative edge around it. A short, square pillar rises from the base, supporting a tapered, cone-shaped section that flares out slightly at the bottom and has ridges around it. Above this section is a large, spherical section. The top of the lamp is black and has two metal pieces protruding from it, possibly a wick holder. The background of the image is a gradient from light gray at the top to dark gray at the bottom. The lamp is by New England Glass Company and is titled "Oil Lamp".
