Platter

James and Ralph Clews

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Oval platter with scalloped edge. The platter has a wide border with a raised floral pattern around the edge. The inner part of the border has a thin line of small dots. Inside the border, a landscape scene depicts a river flowing through a valley with trees on either side. In the background, there are mountains and a cloudy sky. On the left side of the scene, there is a stone wall and what appears to be a building. The entire image is in black and white.
