Sconce

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The sconce features three candle holders. Two outer holders are cylindrical with a wide mouth and etched designs on the top third. They have a metal band around the bottom and are adorned with clear hanging crystals. Chains connect the outer holders to the central candle holder. The central candle holder is taller and more intricately designed. Crystals adorn the central candle holder. A crystal finial crowns the top. All candle holders contain white tapered candles. The background is black. The sconce is by an unknown artist.
