The border also features several ribbons or banners with text, including "MARYLAND", "NEW YORK", "DELAWARE", "VIRGINIA", "PENNSYLVANIA", "NEW JERSEY", and "CONNECTICUT". The plate's rim has a repeating pattern of small decorative elements. The plate's background is a plain surface, with shadows cast underneath it.
