Black and white photograph of "Specimen of the Atlantic Cable" by an unknown artist. Round object on a short stand. The round object is on a circular base with a short cylindrical stem attached. The round object has a glass or plastic cover, slightly domed, and is divided in half by a straight line. There are two small knobs on either side. Underneath the glass cover are 14 round balls arranged in two circles, one inner and one outer. The background is light-colored fabric, wrinkled. The photograph has a thick white border and a thick black border. In the black border at the top left is a logo with three exclamation points. The photograph shows a shadow to the right of the round object.
