Water Goblet

Boston & Sandwich Glass Company

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The glass goblet has a wide mouth that tapers down to a narrow stem and then flares out into a circular base. The goblet is clear with an etched design. The design features a wreath of leaves encircling a capital letter "H". Above the wreath is another etched design that encircles the goblet, consisting of a pattern of leaves and flowers. The base of the goblet has a small amount of yellow residue or staining near the edge. The background of the image is light gray, providing a neutral contrast to the clear glass.
