Windowpane

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Square metal plaque with raised design. Design is symmetrical and centered. Central motif is a circle with a concentric circle inside, surrounded by a four-leaf clover shape with curved pointed leaves. The four-leaf clover shape is inside a square with concave sides; each side has a triangle with a base towards the center and a concentric circle at each point where the triangles meet the square. The triangles have linear and circular patterns inside; lines radiate from the triangles to the edges of the plaque. The plaque's edge has a simple raised border. The plaque by artist M.C. Escher is titled "Windowpane".
