Thomas Hewes Hinckley

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Pencil drawing on aged paper. The paper is rectangular with a black border around it. There are five sketches. In the bottom left, a deer lies down with its head facing down, and another deer's head is positioned in front of it, facing the same direction. Above them, a deer stands facing left with its head turned to the right and two small antlers on its head. To the right, a bare tree with thin branches and a few leaves is sketched. In the top right corner, two deer are running. The background of the paper is beige with darker spots and discoloration throughout. The sketches are done in shades of gray.
